Cool off from the summer heat at SECCA’s Community Day! Project Pearl is honored to be a part of this exciting family event!
Established in October, 2011 by co-founders Fowler Ruffin and Melissa Ball, Project Pearl is a non-profit organization that works with local photographers to increase awareness of and lower the euthanasia rate of healthy, adoptable animals in Forsyth County. At SECCA's Community Day, we will have animals from Forsyth County Animal Control and Project Pearl's foster program, that are available for adoption. Come meet your next best friend!
Project Pearl works in partnership with Forsyth County Animal Control to help educate our community about proper pet ownership (which includes licensing and rabies vaccinations) through outreach, social media and other sources. We believe that community-wide education results in better population control, lower stray intakes and reduced owner surrenders. At Community Day, we will showcase ways to get involved with serving our community’s homeless animal population and explain the many exciting volunteer opportunities available.
SECCA's Community Day is presented as part of the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources' Second Saturday program.
