Daily fine particle averages are expected to net out in the lower Code Yellow range although readings are lower during the afternoon hours today due to vertical mixing. A backdoor cold front will sweep through tonight, ushering in some cleaner air for tomorrow with AQI readings falling to the upper Code Green range. The aforementioned frontal boundary is expected to push back northward as a warm front, thereby allowing the same air mass from today to filter back into the area. Moderate particle pollution levels are expected to return as a result on Thursday. Another cold front is expected to move through on Friday, bringing AQI readings back down into the upper Code Green range. Low-end rain chances are on tap for the balance of the forecast period but impacts on airborne particles should be negligible given the expected light intensity and scattered nature of the rainfall.
