Dining with Diabetes Online Series
N.C. State Extension is offering a Dining With Diabetes Online Series designed for adults 18 years and older at risk for type 2 diabetes. This series is recommended for those with prediabetes, type 2 diabetes or other insulin-resistant conditions, people with other conditions that would benefit from this program, and their families and caregivers.
Join us for this 4-week Dining With Diabetes Online series where we will discuss:
- What is Diabetes?
- Carbohydrates and Sweeteners
- Fats and Sodium
- The benefits of Vitamins, Mineral, and Fiber
- Receive a collection of recipes for Main Dishes, Side Dishes, and Desserts
Mark your calendar for the following dates beginning, Thursday, March 21, 2024:
- March 21, 2024 - 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
- March 28, 2024 - same time
- April 04, 2024 - same time

Diabetes disease continues to be on the rise in our nation. According to the CDC in 2020 there was an estimated 34.2 million cases and even more surprising is that 8.5 million people
are undiagnosed. Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States and the number ONE cause of kidney failure, lower-limb amputations, and adult blindness. Diabetes is not a respecter of people, it impacts all social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
