Four Forsyth County 4-H'ers Tapped into the NC 4-H Honor Club
HONOR CLUB ENTRY AND BACKGROUND
Four, Forsyth County 4-H'ers were inducted into the 4-H Honor Club, one of the highest honors a 4-H’er can achieve. New Honor Club members were tapped during a candlelight ceremony Monday afternoon, July 19. Membership in the Honor Club is based on service to the 4-H program, leadership, moral standards, 4-H activities, and project achievement. Less than one-half of 1 percent of North Carolina 4-H’ers are selected for membership each year. Members must be at least 16 years old and have a minimum of three years of 4-H experience.
New inductees included
- Luke Arrowood, 16, son of Carla and Mark Arrowood of Lexington, NC. Arrowood is a Junior at Arrowood Academy and a member of N.E.S.T and Trailblazers Teen 4-H Clubs. He shared that, "4-H has shaped me into the person that I am today. It has taught me leadership and life skills that I use in everything I do. I always strive to be the best that I can be, whether I am learning about trees or leading a group. I love 4-H and having grown up through the program, I want to be able to give back and contribute to 4-H however I can."
- Noah Crawford, 18, son of Kathleen and Dave Litman of Kernersville, NC. Crawford was an active member of the Trailblazers Teen 4-H Club. He shared that, "To me, 4-H has been a great way to connect with others and express who I am. I have made life-long friends and developed skills that will benefit me long into the future. I look forward to passing on the many skills I have obtained to future 4-H generations."
- Laurelyn Ridge, 16, daughter of David and Crystal Ridge of Kernersville, NC. Ridge is a Junior at Ridgecrest Christian School and is a member of the Trailblazers Teen 4-H Club. She shared, "4-H has allowed me to explore my interests, given me confidence, taught me life and leadership skills, inspired me to take part in the political process, and motivated me to serve my community. My closest friendships were formed in 4-H! In the 4-H family, there is no greater honor than becoming an Honor Club member, where I can give back 4-H and “pass on the torch” as I mentor future generations of 4-H’ers."
- Calleigh Wilson, 16, daughter of Andrew and Jeana Wilson of Kernersville, NC. Wilson is a Junior at Wilson Christian School and is a member of the Trailblazers Teen and NEST 4-H Clubs. Wilson said, "4-H has made me into a better friend and leader than I ever could have imagined by teaching me how to use the four Hs. By using my Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, I help lead my club, I serve at the WS Rescue Mission, and I teach kids how to use electricity. In the 4-H Honor Club, I will continue using the 4 Hs to the best of my ability."
