Chef and the Child
We are hosting a FREE Chef and the Child cooking program for youth ages 8-12 from 9:30-11:30 AM, June 28, 29 and 30th at the Forsyth Extension Center. Spaces are limited. You may register by calling 336-703-2850 or emailing coop-ext-registration@forsyth.cc. We typically have a waiting list for this program so if you decide not to attend this workshop for any reason, please let us know ASAP so that we can fill your spot. If you register, we ask that you commit to fully attending all three days.
Learn to slice, peel and cut vegetables, whip up an omelet, bake yummy muffins, make easy lasagna, and more from professional chefs! All youth must either currently have on file in the office or submit the 4-H enrollment form "http://forsyth.cc/CES/4-H/documents/enrollment.pdf"
AND a notarized 4-H medical release form (completed after 7-1-2015) https://nc4h.ces.ncsu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/4-H_medical.pdf?fwd=no before June 20th. Tour Lowes Food On Friday, July 1st, families will have the option to tour Lowes Foods on Robinhood Road, Winston-Salem from 9:30 AM until. Children must be accompanied by a responsible party at all times. You do NOT have to participate in Chef and the Child in order to participate but you should register by calling 336-703-2850 or emailing coop-ext-registration@forsyth.cc Learn about and sample different fruits and vegetables, how the store buys local foods when possible, see cooking demos and more.
