Celebrate the heritage this weekend at Tanglewood Park for the Strong Sun Pow Wow! This traditional Native American intertribal cultural event will take place on Friday, July 13 – Sunday July 15 at the park’s amphitheater. Come and enjoy dancers in regalia, pow wow drums, crafts, food, demonstrations of Native American skills, children’s events, ceremonies, tribute to veterans, wildlife birds of prey, and more! There will be a special guest appearance by Arvel Bird – world renowned celtic violinist and Native American flutist.
Pow Wow Admission: Children 5 and up $4.00; Adults $8.00; Children 4 and younger, Seniors 62 and older, Veterans, Law enforcement, and Firemen are FREE! Group rates available. This event is open to the public.

The concert at the Red Barn at Tanglewood is on Sunday, July 15 at 6:30 pm. John Sarantos, renowned Native American flute player, live in concert, with River Drum, is playing celtic and Appalachian music with Native American influences, and Fred Nez Keams, Native American flute player and storyteller. Pre-show ticket sales at Pow Wow Gate: Adult $10, Child $5. Tickets at the door: Adults $15, Child $10.
