The Bee School will meet from 9am to 12noon: February 25, March 3, 17, 24, 31 and April 14. The class sessions will be held at the Forsyth County Ag. Building. A Bee Yard Day, Practical and Written Exam will be included for those who would like to become a Certified Beekeeper.
The course will be instructed by Dr. Buddy Marterre, a past President of FCBA, has earned both North Carolina State Beekeeper Association (NCSBA) Master Beekeeper and an Eastern Apicultural Society (EAS) Master Beekeeper certifications and served on the NCSBA Executive Board. He is the lead author and instigator of Certified Naturally Grown's Natural Beekeeping Standards. He has taught over 500 students at the FCBA Bee School since developing the curriculum in 2004. He has kept bees since 2003; He currently has about 16 colonies and he rears his own queens on a small scale.
