Home & Garden programs for March 25 – April 10
Fruits and vegetables, container gardening and growing herbs take center stage in our spring garden series. Home grown fruit is so much better when you pick it from the plants you are growing in your landscape. Learn how to prepare and amend the soil for planting as well as how to prune and harvest small fruits.
Vegetables taste 100% better better when they are home grown and not store bought. Find out how to grow your own vegetables from transplants or seeds, prepare your garden soil, fertilize and control weeds. These practices will help you to have a successful vegetable garden.
Container gardens are options for people in apartments or with limited garden space. Containers can be moved to different locations to give a color splash in a special place. Find out what plants grow well in containers and what kind of containers to use. Learn all the necessary steps to grow and harvest herbs in the ground as well as in containers.
Programs will last 1 to 11/2 hours, mostly in lecture format but with plenty of time for questions. Programs are presented by Master Gardener Volunteers and Extension Agents of Forsyth County Cooperative Extension. For more information e-mail
