Private First Class (PFC) M. Day has been employed by the Forsyth County Sheriffs Office since November 1,2008. PFC Day is a Detention Officer who is used in many capacities throughout the facility. He has been trained to work in Master Control, Intake Control, and currently regularly working in the Special Housing Unit.

On June 1,2013 PFC Day was assigned to 8 South Control. While performing multiple tasks, PFC Day prevented an inmate from injuring himself further through escalated surveillance. The inmate began hitting his head on the wall in an attempt to hurt himself. The inmate also claimed that he had swallowed a toothbrush and pen in an attempt to injure himself. Had it not been for PFC Day's diligence in performing his duties, and the decisive action he took in alerting other officers and supervisors, the inmate may have been successful in further self-injury.

PFC Day has portrayed excellent multitasking skills. His vigilance and awareness to his surroundings and the special needs and considerations of inmates assigned to his area have established what his supervisors already knew. PFC Day is a valuable asset to his team and the FCSO. Congratulations PFC Day!
