Synopsis and Discussion

Air quality levels are in the YELLOW range as a high pressure area noses into the Mid-Atlantic States. Rain is in the forecast for much of the week as a weak low develops in the southern plains and its warm front slides across our region. As the week progresses, a high pressure area over the northern part of the US will form and support a boundary area over NC, which will produce a lot of rainy weather through the end of the week. This stationary front will hang over the area and help keep AQI levels in the lower YELLOW range for Tuesday. Expect lower YELLOW AQI levels to continue for the rest of the week. (Bodenhamer)
